The Wake Up Call of the Wild

Meet Jane Doe/Wild, a woman with a bump on the head and a fabulous 360 view of the Talkeetna Mountains all to herself.  All to herself and one scrappy little opportunistic member of the weasel family named Maggie. They figure things out over the course of a summer and come out with what passes for friendship and not a bad future.  There is a dead guy along the way and another guy who is temporarily dead.

Accessories are Everything in the Wild

Jane is on her feet in several ways and taking a vacation with her partner/niece on the Chilkoot Trail from Skagway, Alaska to Bennett, British Columbia.  And back.  It’s a working vacation, so spelling and grammar count and there is a dress code.  The girls meet an odd lot of hikers from both directions, get involved in a couple of large mysteries and one or two minor ones.  The dead guy is absolutely dead this time.  Way dead.

            Nature Runs Wild

The third and some say final installment from Ms. Wild has her short of funds and taking a summer job at a remote lodge deeper in the Talkeetnas.  It’s not your normal lodge and the guests represent family reunions, retreats, photo shoots and smoking cessation clinics.  The lodge has the kind of neighbors you’d expect by now (there’s a reason these people live remote), a cranky bear and a very fortuitous appearance by Maggie.  Dead guy?  Long dead.  Jane has to do some fancy footwork to avoid joining him.
